Dear Aspiring Marketer,

Before I delve into my Wealthy Affiliate review, I want to tell you a little bit about myself and my background.

Ebay Powerseller

Before I got introduced to internet marketing and selling informational products online, I was a powerseller on eBay. My business was doing very well and I was importing products from all over the world, year on year my turnover was increasing and things were swiftly moving in the right direction. However, one day I received an e-mail from eBay stating that they had closed down my account because they received a complaint from a very big company based in Germany. Because this company was very big and because they threatened eBay of a lawsuit, eBay were very quick to close me down. All that hard work that I had put into my business was washed away, it was as if I never existed on eBay, everything literally dried up and with that so did the money, a true hero to zero story.

Money Dried Up

It was at that point that I realised that it was foolish of me to rely on a third-party platform to build my business. I could have gone on to open up a brand-new account with eBay however like said it was stupid of me to rely solely on eBay for my sales.

Alternative Way To Make Money Online

I started looking for alternative methods of making money, I had already been exposed to the online moneymaking machine i.e. I fully understood how powerful of a medium the Internet is. So it was natural for me to look for something to do online.

Naturally like everyone else I typed into Google "how to make money online" and this is where my journey began to find a genuine way to generate an income online.

Meet The Sharks

As you are probably aware that it is a nightmare looking for a legitimate opportunity to make money online. Everywhere you turn you just find people sitting there like sharks waiting to gobble up your money, indeed it is a sad state of affairs.

Encounter With Wealthy Affiliate

After months of searching and jumping from one program to another and burning a hell of a lot of money I accidentally stumbled across the Wealthy Affiliate University.

My Wife Is On the Case

I was so fed up and frustrated with all the lies and promises I had been made in the past by different programs that promised me that I’ll make a good amount of money online that when I looked at the Wealthy Affiliate website I instantly thought of the word SCAM. But then I was so desperate to break through with my online efforts specially because at this point even my family were concerned about me because they thought I had gone bonkers as I was ploughing so much money into a system which was not paying back, and they were trying to convince me that it’s all a myth and false claims and that I should wisen up to all this and get a proper 9-to-5 job. But there was something in me that told me that money can be made online but only if I could find somebody who can guide me in the right direction and give me proper mentoring.

I Give Wealthy Affiliate A Try

Every other program I was looking at was no good because I had read reviews about about them like for instance The Rich Jerk and The Profit Lance, so the only real good option was to give Wealthy Affiliate a try and see if it would help me in any way. At that time the membership was $29.99 so I thought that if it does not teach me how to make money through affiliate marketing then I would have lost $30 and this will be the last amount of money I spend on anything to do with making money online, I’ll give up and look for a job.

I remember very clearly that I joined the Wealthy Affiliate University on 27 December 2007.

I Begin To See The Light

Immediately after joining I started to go through all the material that was available on the wealthy affiliate website. The material was split up into three categories which were beginner, intermediate and advanced level. Also there was a section which was called the eight week plan which was going to be made available week by week. I read as much as I could and by the end of it my head was hurting and I was slightly confused and overloaded with information, however I felt a bit of joy because I realised that I had finally come across something which made sense.

Over the next few weeks my digested all the information that was available on the wealthy affiliate website and then started to take action. My very first campaign revolved around a product which was related to eBay because I had an experience on eBay I thought it would be a good product for me to promote. Using the resources and the guidelines that were on the wealthy affiliate website I built my first Squidoo lens around this eBay product. I then went on to write an ezine article which got approved and lo and behold the very next day after the articles approved when I logged into my clickbank account I saw a sale for $24 and something cents. I remember jumping up and down with joy and could not wait to tell my wife about the sale I had just made. Just for your information, that campaign which gave me a few more sales was not very successful and that is because I failed on the keyword research part which you will learn when you join the wealthy affiliate University.
